The Commercial Trus-T-Lift
Fully
Code Compliant
YES WE CAN!
What exactly is
a code compliant vertical platform lift?
There are 9 different national codes that
regulate the design and installation of vertical
platform lifts in the U.S. Each state and in
some cases municipalities within a state will
follow one of the nine different codes and then
in many cases make changes and additions to the
code. Also, individual elevator inspectors may
have their own requirements for a particular
application. Sounds confusing? It is if you
attempt to supply your customer with a vertical
lift prior to finding out what the local
Elevator authority requirements are first. It’s
a bit like getting in your car and driving
without knowing where it is that you want to go.

How can I meet the
code and regulatory requirements?
The short answer is that we can configure a RAM
Lift to meet any code requirement for vertical
platform lifts and meet most individual
inspector requirements. Our team at RAM
Manufacturing Ltd. has been installing vertical
platform lifts in commercial and residential
buildings for over 20 years and we will work
with you to successfully complete your lift
project.
For a successful project follow these steps:
- Gather information on the project such
as Building address, lifting height and lift
configuration (use Design-A –Lift for the
configuration or scan a copy of the building
plans).
- Email or fax the building information to
RAM and we will provide you with an
installation drawing showing the technical
specifications.
- Submit the drawings to the local
elevator regulatory authority and discuss
the application with them to determine if
there are any additional requirements.
- Provide the inspector requirements to
RAM, we can then supply you with an
appropriate lift quote and final
installation drawings.
